REPORT BY JUSTICE, DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE INITIATIVE, EKITI DIOCESE (JDPI) AND CARITAS NIGERIA/JDPC ON THE EKITI 2022 GUBERNATORIAL HELD ON THE 18TH DAY OF JUNE, 2022

PREAMBLE

This report is produced by Justice, Development and Peace Initiative, Ekiti Diocese (JDPI), one of the Accredited Domestic Observers by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the Ekiti State Governorship Election held on the 18th of June, 2022. JDPI was accredited under the name ‘JUSTICE DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE COMMISSION CATHOLIC CARITAS FOUNDATION OF NIGERIA’.  

JDPI deployed 220 INEC Accredited Observers and additional 130 Community-based Observers designated ‘Invisible Observers. The Observers were adequately on reportage of election observation through the use of checklists designed on KoBoToolBox. 323 out of the total 350 deployed Observers completed and submitted their checklists, and these were analysed with PivotTable on excel to generate this report. The dashboard displaying the report Local Government on the whole comprising at designated Polling Units, JDPI recognized Observers (a.k.a invisible observers) exercising their electoral civic rights and responsibilities in their Polling Units, and INEC Accredited Observers who roved round the wards within designated LGAs. All categories of JDPI’s observers 359 Observers comprising 203 males and 156 females submitted reports covering 370 Polling Units in 103 Wards.
